Relationships eliminate VLookup problems
VLookup. You’re either living in ignorant bliss, or cursing the very name. In any case, Vizubi can help you spend more time doing analysis and less time trying to figure out how to get the right data into an analysis or report.
Vizubi uses a simple and intuitive system for managing the relationships between the tables you import. Relationships between fields with the same names on different tables are automatically identified during the import phase (you choose whether to create the relationship or not). You can also manually create relationships between tables even if the fields you’re using in the relationship aren’t the same. And you can drop VLookup forever.

Only show the data you want in the database and reports
One of the biggest problems in doing analysis is ensuring that the data you use is clean. In Vizubi, part of the import process revolves around ensuring that the data you work with will give you reliable results.
You can choose to import only the fields that you are interested in using. You can hide and unhide specific fields or entire tables. You can select which values to show or not to show in specific columns. Once you’ve selected which data to use, those choices will be saved to the database. When you import data from the same sources again, the selections you make will persist.
Create a Pivot table with data from different tables
Pivot tables in Excel can only use data from a single table. You can use VLookup as a work around, but it’s time consuming and slow. In Vizubi you can put fields from any table in your database into the same pivot table or pivot chart. Performance is exceptional even when you’ve got a ton of data and best of all you don’t have to maintain complex formulas because your data is all connected.
Data in Vizubi is on one virtual table which is dynamically created as necessary to publish the output you need.
Automatically create Time Dimensions: avoid time consuming, repetitive tasks
Creating Time Dimensions is one of the most repetitive tasks in business intelligence projects. Usually, BI tools leave this work to users. Our self-service software takes the drudgery out of this by automatically creating time dimension tables for date/time fields. Our import wizard recognizes date and time fields and asks users if they want to create time dimension tables around these fields. You can also set the time dimension format and the date dimension format which will be inherited throughout the model you create.
Vizubi also automatically generates time filter panels associated with every time dimension you create.
Automatic here doesn’t mean you’re forced to create time dimensions for every time or date field in the data you import. You can choose which time dimensions to create and you can also manually create time dimensions with a single click for any field which contains time data.

Actionable information with calculated columns
You just finished listening to a really expensive Business Intelligence consultant tell you that you need to invest in an even more expensive data warehouse to reduce the load on your incredibly expensive ERP system. The reason you need to do this is that you need to use some data that is not directly available in your data sources but has to be calculated. You have three options:
- Do nothing and hope that downtime for the ERP system just goes away.
- Spend buckets of cash and hope for the best.
- Log on to Monster and start looking for a new job.
Oh yeah you could just use Vizubi. With Vizubi you can create calculated columns after the import phase which are saved directly into your database. You can share the database with other users so that they don’t have to calculate the values again. This means that you get high performance without burdening your other systems. Vizubi’s calculated columns support a series of operations from simply adding or multiplying the values from two columns to extracting strings from fields and calculating new time dimensions.
